4.  Candidates will first undergo screening exercises which involve credentials screening, medical tests and physical features among others.

5. Candidates must bring along the originals and photocopies of the following documents:

a. Academic certificates/statements of result and testimonials for primary and secondary schools (Junior and Senior).

b. Birth Certificate (preferable) or Declaration of Age.

c. Proof of Local Government of origin duly signed by the Chairman of the Local Government or Attestation obtained from Police Officers from the same State of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and above.

In this case, the officer must indicate his formation/unit, appointment, contact address, phone numbers and e-mail address. The officer must also affix his/her formation/unit stamp and sign

d. Original UTME (JAMB) result slip 2020 and evidence of choosing POLAC as first choice.                                                                        

e. Police Academy examination forms downloaded from the Internet.

f. Candidates are to bring along second copy of their postcard signed by the Supervisor or the Assistant Supervisor of the Centre where they sat for the selection examination.  g. Proof of choosing Police Academy as First Choice

6.  Candidates who fail to bring along with them the documents listed above will be disqualified.

*Any alteration on the documents will attract out right disqualification.

7.  Candidates are to also bring the following items:

a. Two blue shorts and Two white T Shirts.

b. A pair of white canvass shoes and 2 pairs of white socks.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

 (a)         Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

The Postgraduate Diploma programme runs for a minimum period of two (2) semesters and a maximum period of four (4) semesters. Interested candidates must possess first degree not below third class or HND not below lower credit in related disciplines from recognized institutions. In addition, candidates must possess credits in English Language and Mathematics at O’level, including any other three (3) relevant subjects.

(b)        Master Degree (Academic and Professional)




The Master degree programme runs for a minimum period of 4 semesters and a maximum period of 6 semesters for full-time candidates; a minimum period of 6 semesters and a maximum period of 8 semesters for part-time candidates. All Master Degree Programmes are by coursework. The following may qualify for the Master Degree admission:

i.             Graduates of Federal University Lokoja or other recognized institutions who have obtained the approved degree of Bachelor with at least second-class division or its equivalent or candidates with University degree and appropriate Postgraduate Diploma of Federal University Lokoja or other recognized institutions with at least a credit level pass;

ii.            Candidates with only Bachelor’s degree in Third Class division and a relevant Postgraduate Diploma;

iii.          Candidates whose degrees are unclassified with average of “C” or 50% or above. Such candidates may be subjected to qualifying tests;

iv.          Candidates must possess five (5) relevant O’Level credits including English and Mathematics;

v.           NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate;

vi.          Candidates may be required to pass examination set by departments to which they are seeking admission to determine their suitability for postgraduate work;

vii.         Candidates who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.

(c)         Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

The Master of Philosophy degree programme is available only to full-time candidates. It runs for a minimum period of two (2) semesters and a maximum period of four (4) semesters. Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to Ph.D. To be eligible for conversion for the Ph.D. programme, candidates are expected to score not less than 4.00 CGPA at the end of the first session. The following may qualify for Master of Philosophy admission:

Federal University Lokoja Postgraduate Admission for 2020/2021

i.             Graduates of Federal University Lokoja or other recognized institutions who have obtained a Master degree (Academic) with a CGPA of less than 3.0 on a 4-point scale or less than 4.0 on 5-point scale;

ii.            Holders of a Master degree (Academic) in a cognate discipline with a CGPA of 4 and above;

iii.          Candidates must possess five (5) relevant O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics;

iv.          NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate;

v.           Candidates who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.

(d)        Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The Ph.D. degree programme runs for a minimum period of six (6) semesters and a maximum period of ten (10) semesters. Relevant courses will be taken for the Ph.D. full-time studies where prescribed and a Thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. programme. The following may qualify for the Doctor of Philosophy admission:

i.             Graduates of Federal University Lokoja and other recognized institutions who have obtained good Master degree (Academic) with a CGPA of not less than 4.0 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale appropriate to the proposed area of study.

ii.            Graduates of Federal University Lokoja and other recognized institutions who have obtained Master of Philosophy degree appropriate to the proposed area of study.

iii.          In addition to (i) and (ii) above, candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Second Class lower division.

iv.          Candidates must possess five (5) relevant O’Level credits including English and Mathematics.

v.           NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

vi.          Candidates who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.

M.Sc, MD, Ph.D PROGRAMMES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME IN MOLECULAR MEDICINE

A) Entry requirements for the M.Sc Molecular Medicine:

All candidates must fulfil the university minimum requirements as stipulated by the University programmes and the University.

Candidates with MB.BS from recognized university

All candidates must have passed the Part 1 fellowship examination or its equivalents from recognized postgraduate medical colleges.




B) Entry requirements for the PhD Molecular Medicine:

All candidates must fulfil the university minimum requirements as stipulated by the University programmes and the University.

Candidates with MB.BS from recognized university

All candidates must have passed the Part 2 fellowship examination in relevant discipline or its equivalents from recognized postgraduate medical colleges or Graduates from approved universities who have obtained the degree of M.Sc in Molecular Medicine with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5.0 or 60% and project score not lower than 60%.

C) Entry requirements for the MD Molecular Medicine:

All candidates must fulfil the university minimum requirements as stipulated by the University programmes and the University.

Candidates with MB.BS from recognized university

All candidates must have passed the Part 2 fellowship examination in relevant discipline or its equivalents from recognized postgraduate medical colleges.

A candidate who holds recognized postgraduate medical qualifications in clinical medicine with five published articles on molecular medicine in impact factor (TR) journals, as first author.

Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience in the field of molecular medicine is an advantage.

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES & VACCINOLOGY

A) Entry requirements for the M.Sc Infectious Diseases & Vaccinology:

  • Complete referee form. (Enter correct Emails).
  • Check the complete details
  • Submit form.

Please note that with the exception of the transcript, you are not expected to submit hard copies of application materials to the school of Postgraduate Studies.

REFEREE REPORTS

When completing the application form, the candidates shall supply the e-mail addresses of their referees through which a link will be sent to the referees with request to complete the Report Form in respect of the candidate and submit online.

TRANSCRIPTS

Candidates should download transcript request forms (D2) also provided online, and submit to their former Universities/Institutions to forward their academic transcript(s) to “The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka” to reach  him/her not later than two weeks of this publication. Candidates whose transcripts are not received on or before the deadline by the School shall not have their application forms processed.

UNN Post-UTME Screening Exercise for 2020/2021

The University of Nigeria Nsukka UNN Post-UTME Screening Exercise for 2020/2021 is ongoing till 15th of January 2020 according the institute website, registration procedures, requirements, venues and timetables are stated below.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka hereby invites candidates who had the UNN as their first choice in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 180 and above for screening exercise.
