Lagos State University Indigeneship Verification Exercise 2023/2024.

The Lagos State University (LASU) is once again conducting its Indigeneship Verification Exercise for Lagos State Indigenes who wish to apply for admission into the university. The exercise will commence on Thursday, 20th July, 2023 and close on Friday, 18th August, 2023.

To apply for the exercise, candidates must:

  • Have scored a minimum of 195 in the 2023 UTME.
  • Have chosen Lagos State University as their first choice of institution.
  • Be a native of Lagos State.

The verification exercise will be conducted in four phases:

  • Phase 1: Online registration and payment of the verification fee.
  • Phase 2: Screening of candidates’ documents.
  • Phase 3: Interview with the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC).
  • Phase 4: Issuance of the LASU Indigeneship Clearance Certificate.

Candidates who are successful in the verification exercise will be issued a LASU Indigeneship Clearance Certificate. This certificate is required for admission into Lagos State University.

The registration fee for the exercise is N5,000. Candidates can register online at the LASU website, https://lasu.edu.ng/iive/

The deadline for registration is Friday, 18th August, 2023.

GENERAL INFORMATION

i. Please NOTE that ONLY Candidates who are of Lagos State Origin are eligible for screening. Candidates in this category are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) BEFORE being considered for admission;

ii. The interview will hold at the following venues:

Ikeja Division: First Floor, L & H Building, Faculty of Arts 

Badagry Division: New TETFund Building, Faculty of Education 

Ikorodu Division: Law Clinic, Faculty of Law 

Lagos Division: International Business Class, MBA Building 

Epe Division: School of Transport

iii. Old applicants for 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 Academic Sessions that have not been offered admission will only Revalidate their indigeneship Clearance Certificates online at www.lasu.edu.ng with payment; and

iv. All Direct Entry applicants who are of Lagos State Origin are to participate in this Indigeneship Verification Exercise before they can be considered for admission.

Applicants are required to pay the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Three Hundred Naira (N25,300.00) nonrefundable  application fee into LASU Account on Line. 

All applicants shall be required to sit for qualifying Entrance Examination on the Main Campus.

Sale of application forms will be closed four (4) weeks from the date of this publication.

Application forms for all programmes should be submitted on-line and a copy of the e-Registration slip printed out by the applicant.

NOTE

1. Candidates who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps assignment or their current Postgraduate Programmes need not apply.

2. All academic transcripts must be received latest two weeks after the close of sale of forms.

3. Request for transfer of processed application forms from one Department to another will not be entertained.

4.  Candidates must personally attend the selection and written examinations as make-up test will not be conducted.
