FELLOW MEMBERSHIP
Criteria for the Fellow membership qualification include:
- Seven years or more work experience in a senior project management post in either public or private sector.
- Serve the institute in any capacity set by the council
- Or employed in a senior management position in either private or public sector.

Chartered Institute of Project Managers Membership
CHARTERED/FULL MEMBERSHIP
Criteria for the Chartered/Full membership qualification include:
- Passed a pre-enrollment stipulated examination such as SSCE, NECO, ND, HND, BSc etc., as may from time to be determined by the council.
- Passed all examinations prescribed by the council
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification continuous working experience in Project Management in any private or public organization.
- Been a chartered of a foreign member project management professional body recognized by the council.
- Belong to a class of membership in (Bii) above, which in the opinion of the council is equivalent to that of membership of CIPMN.
- Must have a minimum of one year working experience in private or public organization in Nigeria.
- Must update professional knowledge at least once in year through the institute’s Mandatory Proficiency Programmes (MPP).
- Must pay the prescribe fee for (4) four consecutive years, and
- is eligible for election into any post in the institute.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Criteria for the Associate membership qualification include:
- Possesses requisite qualification from other field of study or discipline not related to Project Management as might be determined by the council.
- Shall not be eligible to vote or be voted for at any election of the institute.

GRADUATE MEMBERSHIP
Criteria for the Graduate membership qualification include:
- Possesses requisite academic qualification in Project Management from any recognized higher institution other than the CIPMN, but have not passed through NYSC.
- Pass all the exam of the CIPMN prescribed by the council.
- Post examination work experience (Industrial Training)
