The Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA Admission into Postgraduate for 2020/2021 Academic Session, application has commenced since October 4th till November 15th.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Postgraduate Programmes of the Federal University of Technology, Akure for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
    • A first degree, not lower than Third Class, in the relevant discipline. 
      • Higher National Diploma (HND) of at least Lower Credit level or its equivalent in the relevant or related discipline.
      • Professional qualifications acceptable in the University, such as ACA, AIB, ACCA, ACIS, or equivalent for the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science only.
  • Master of Agric. Technology/Master of     

Engineering/Master of Technology   

(M. Agric. Tech./M. Eng./M. Tech.)

  • A good Bachelors degree of at least Second Class Lower Division of The Federal University of Technology, Akure, in the appropriate discipline.
    • A good Bachelors degree of at least Second Class Lower Division from other recognized Universities, in the appropriate discipline.
      • Higher Diploma of at least Lower Credit level and in addition, the candidate must have a Postgraduate Diploma (at Upper Credit level) in the appropriate discipline.
  • Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.)

For M. Phil. in advertised discipline, a good      M. Tech. degree or equivalent is required in the relevant discipline.

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D)
    • A good Masters degree in the appropriate discipline with a CGPA of 3.50 and/or 60% minimum average score.
    • Any other qualification approved by Senate.
Postgraduate Duration of Programme

(i) Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (PGD)

  • Full-Time students shall normally spend between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24) months.
  • Part-Time students shall normally spend between eighteen (18) and thirtysix (36) months.
  • Masters Programmes

    M.Agric.Tech./M.Eng./M.Tech./

Professional

Students shall normally be required to spend between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24) months.

  • M. Phil. Programme
    • Students shall normally be required to   spend between eighteen (18) and twentyfour (24) months.
  • A candidate may transfer from M.Phil. to Ph.D programme after completing the course-work and fulfilling all other approved requirements.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programme
    • Full-Time candidates may defend their theses between thirty-six (36) and fortyeight (48) months.
  • Part-Time candidates may defend their theses between forty-eight (48) and sixty (60) months.

Method of Application
  • Candidates should process their application on-line at the University’s website (http//www.futa.edu.ng), (www.arcsstee.org.ng), and  (https://afrigist.org) using the REMITA method with payment made to the

School of Postgraduate Studies account.

  • Application forms for postgraduate programmes are sold for N20,000.00 (Ph.D), N20,000.00 (Masters), and  N20,000.00 (PGD) only

(iii)Specifically, Ph.D candidates should send their

(iv) Non–FUTA graduates are requested to print out Transcript Label attached to the

Application Form and request their institutions to forward their official academic transcripts to the address below with the Transcript Label (indicating the target Department) latest SIX (6) weeks from the date of this advertisement.

FUTA 2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening Exercise

The Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA 2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening Exercise still on going according to the university official website, requirements and procedures are stated below.

The Federal University of Technology Akure online registration for Post-UTME screening exercise for the purpose of admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2020/2021 Academic Session will commence on Monday, 21st September and end on Saturday, 31st October, 2020.

ELIGIBILITY 

Candidates who scored a minimum of 180 in the 2020 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Direct Entry (DE) candidates who made the Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA their First Choice Institution are eligible for the screening. In addition, each candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings in O’ level examinations conducted by WAEC, NECO and NABTEB or their equivalent. Candidates who are awaiting results but whose results would be available before the conclusion of the admission exercise, are also eligible to apply.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

FUTA 2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening Exercise

Candidates are required to:

  1. visit the University website (www.futa.edu.ng) for information;
  2. complete and submit the University Post-UTME Application Form online; and
  3. print out a copy of the Registration Form.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

The Registration Form is mandatory for all eligible candidates to complete for the screening exercise. Please note that the candidate’s UTME Registration Number and the Full names (as it is on JAMB slip) be correctly provided at the point of payment and registration.

After payment, each candidate should visit the University website and complete the online Registration Form.

SCREENING FEE

The screening fee is Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only payable at any Bank on Remita platform after generating the necessary Code.

Candidates who fail to register within the stipulated period will not be eligible for the Screening.

SCREENING SCHEDULE

Schedule and procedure for the Screening would be announced later. Consequently, ALL eligible candidates are advised to check the University website regularly for updates as appropriate.
