The Diploma course will be for two (2) sessions (four Semesters).
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
General Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five credits at not more than two sittings in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, NABTEB or its equivalent.
Candidates are also expected to fulfil the specific Departmental Requirements for their various courses of choice.
(1) Diploma in Agricultural Science Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Agricultural Science or Biology and any one of Geography or Economics at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language, Mathematics, and either Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology and any one of Geography or Economics.
(2) Diploma in Biology Education
A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC or its equivalent, including Mathematics, Biology and English Language, at not more than two sittings.
(3) Diploma in Business Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, NABTEB including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other two subjects at not more than two sittings.
(4) Diploma in Chemistry Education
A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC or its equivalent, including Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language, at not more than two sittings.
(5) Diploma in Computer Science Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC or its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics and any other two Science subjects.
(6) Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Nursery and Primary Education)
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II including English Language and Mathematics.
(7) Diploma in Economics Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC; including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two other Social Science subjects at not more than
two sittings.

(8) Diploma in Geography Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and two other subjects at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language, Mathematics, Geography and two other subjects.
(9) Diploma in Guidance and Counselling Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics.
(10) Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language, Mathematics and one Science subject from Biology/Health Science, any two subjects from Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics and one other subject, at not more than two sittings.
(11) Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any of Food and Nutrition or Home Management, and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.
b. TC II with at least Merit passes in five subjects as required in (a) above and credit passes in Mathematics and General Science.
(12) Diploma in Human Kinetics, Recreation and Sports Science Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language, Mathematics and Biology or Health Science, at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language, Mathematics, Physical and Health Education and any other subjects.
c. Holders of Associateship Certificate in Education.
(13) Diploma in Integrated Science Education
a. A minimum of five O’Level credits in GCE or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II in the relevant Science subjects, English Language and Mathematics as indicated in (a) above.
(14) Diploma in Library Science Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics.
(15) Diploma in Mathematics Education
A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC
or its equivalent which must include Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and English Language, at not more than two sittings.
(16) Diploma in Physics Education
A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC or its equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics and Physics, and any other subject, at not more than two sittings.
(17) Diploma in Political Science
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language and Mathematics, Government or History and one other Arts or Science subject at not more than two sittings.

b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics, Government or History and one other Arts or Science subject.
(18) Diploma in Secretarial Studies Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and one other subject, at not more than two sittings.
b. Associateship Certificate in Education/Accounting/Business Administration/Secretarial Studies awarded by an approved Institution of Higher Learning.
(19) Diploma in Social Studies Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language and Mathematics and any two of Economics, Government, History, Geography, CRS or Commence at not more than two sittings.
b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics and any two of Economics, Government or History Geography, CRS or Commence.
(20) Diploma in Technical Education
a. A minimum of five credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSCE or WASC, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other two subjects at not more than two sittings.

b. A minimum of five Merits in TC II, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other two subjects.

1) Candidates are required to visit https://portal.delsu.edu.ng/ to generate an
applicant virtual pin N20,000.00 (twenty thousand Naira) only and
make payment to any of the following banks:

2(a) Candidates should, with the pin for payment, access and complete the Delta State University, Abraka 2020/2021 Diploma form online at http://www.delsuonline.com with their recent colour passport-sized
photograph scanned to the JPEG format and not more than 20kb in size.
(b) Candidates are advised to use virtual pin immediately after payment, as the pin will be invalid after six (6) hours of generation.
(c) Candidates are advised to read the instructions on the front page of the website before completing the form.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(a) Candidates should possess five credits in relevant subjects in the Senior Secondary School
Certificate Examination or its equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should
include English Language and Mathematics. For Pharmacy and Nursing Science degree
programmes, candidates must have the five credits at one sitting.
(b) Specific Departmental admission requirements are as indicated in the UTME brochure for Delta
State University, Abraka.
(c) Candidates are required to register with JAMB and write the 2021 UTME. They must take
DELSU as first Choice.
(d) Candidates must write 2021 JAMB and score a minimum of DELSU JAMB cut-off point which is at
present 170.
(e) Candidates must register the same course in JAMB and in the DELSU Pre-degree Programme.

    Admission of candidates into the various courses shall be based on a General Aptitude Test,
    which shall be conducted by the Delta State University, Abraka.

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    (A) General Admission Requirements
    i. Candidates for postgraduate studies must have a degree or its equivalent from a Senaterecognized institution. They must have also obtained at least five (5) credit passes, in WASC,
    NECO, GCE (Ordinary Level), or NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings. Credit Pass is

    required for O’ Level WAEC results in English Language and Mathematics into all
    programmes except in the Faculties of Arts and Law, where a pass in Mathematics is
    required. ACE and TC II are not acceptable. (Not equivalent to WASC, NECO, GCE or
    NABTEB). Please note that there will be no waiver for anybody seeking admission into any of
    the programmes.

    ii. A candidate applying for Ph.D. in any programme must have obtained at least a weighted
    average score of 60% overall.
    iii. Candidates applying for academic Master Degree: (M.Sc., M.Ed., M.A. LL.M. and M.Eng.) must
    be holders of bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from the Delta State University, Abraka
    or any other accredited university with at least “Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree
    recognized by Senate
    iv. Candidates applying for professional Master Degree must be holders of Bachelor’s degree in
    relevant discipline from Delta State University, Abraka or any other accredited university with at
    least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree recognized by Senate or a Higher
    National Diploma with Upper Credit from a Senate-recognized polytechnic.
    v. Candidates for Postgraduate Diploma programmes must be holders of a bachelor’s degree in
    the relevant discipline from the Delta State University, Abraka or any other accredited university
    with at least a “Third Class Honours” degree or a HND (Lower Credit) recognized by Senate.
    (B) METHOD OF APPLICATION
    Candidates are required to visit www.delsu.edu.ng and complete the Delta State University,
    Abraka 2020/2021 PG Admission Form online and to also generate an application virtual pin of
    N31,000.00 (thirty-one thousand naira) only. Payment should be made at any of the following
    designated banks:
    UBA
    Zenith Bank
    Unity Bank
    Fidelity Bank Closing date for the sale of forms is, Wednesday 30
    th December, 2020.
    Note: Applicants are to upload scanned copies of the following documents in pdf format:
  1. Transcript of all previous qualifications obtained
  2. WASC; NECO; GCE or NABTEB Certificate (not TC II)
  3. NYSC Certificate or Exemption or Exclusion Certificate obtained from NYSC Office only
  4. A 3–5 page research proposal indicating area of research interest (for Ph.D. candidates)
  5. Candidates are advised to read the instructions on the home page of the Website
    www.delsu.edu.ng before completing the Application Form.
    In addition, candidates are expected to download transcript forms and forward same to their previous
    institutions.
    List of those offered provisional admission into any programme will be published in the Postgraduate
    School at Abraka Campus. Screening of provisionally admitted candidates and payment of fees will
    commence immediately.
