These are Guidelines on How to Become FCTI 2021.

The Chartered Institute Taxation of Nigeria CITN has published guidelines on how to become Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria FCTI for this year 2021, see guidelines below.

a. The applicant must be a member of the Institute for a minimum period of 5 years;
b. The applicant must be a financial member of the Institute; Applicants for Fellowship upgrade must attend, at least, 3 MPTP or Seminars either in the preceding or current year.




This condition is expected to be met by applicants. Council’s approval for Fellowship upgrade and Practicing License application is subject to the fulfilment of the above stated criteria.
c. The application for Fellowship upgrade is online
d. Visit https://www.citn.org and login with your details
e. Click on “my membership”
f. Click on “apply for fellowship”, fill and submit the application form to generate a payment reference code;
g. Download the attached district form;
h. The District form must be duly filled and signed by the respective district Chairman;
i. The completed District form must be scanned and uploaded to your profile following these steps:
      – Login to your profile;
      – Click on my profile;
      – Click on edit profile;
      – Click on ‘other files’ and upload;
j. Payment of N100, 000.00 for application fee and transfer to fellowship conferment ceremony;
k. Payment can be made online or direct payment to CITN UBA Account No. 1005809652 and send payment details to the contacts below.

CITN Examination Time-Table for April Diet 2021

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria CITN Examination Time-Table for April Diet 2021 has been published on the institute portal.

The CITN examinations is scheduled to commence from Tuesday 13th of April, 2021 to Thursday 15th of April 2021.

“Please note that the New Banking Professional Syllabus will run concurrently with the Existing Syllabus for two consecutive diets (April and October 2021) giving opportunity to candidates with few subjects to complete the Programme. The New Syllabus would take full effect from April 2022”.
“The Timetable has been structured to enable candidates write a maximum of three (3) subjects of one hour each per Session (i.e Morning Session: 9:00am to 12noon and Afternoon Session: 2:00pm to 5:00pm) in the existing syllabus while the New Syllabus has maximum of two subjects of one and half hours each per Session”.

Criteria to qualify for the Council Policy on Waiver of Subscription Payment
  • Be 65 Years and Above 2.
  • Have paid subscription for 10 consecutive years or more.

“The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria presents the 7th Edition of the National Tax Quiz Competition scheduled to hold during its 2021 Annual Tax Conference from May 18-22, 2021.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the competition includes:
a. To stimulate the interest of Students in Taxation as a course of study
b. To provide a platform for intellectual interaction amongst students at the grassroots level.
c. To promote greater awareness of the relevance and importance of Taxation in meeting societal needs and reducing social inequalities.
d. To emphasize the need to change our dependency from natural resources to revenue generation from taxation
e. Provide a platform for intellectual interaction among students, tax practitioners and policy makers

ELIGIBILITY
If you are a prize winner from previous editions of the competition, please do not apply.

Entry is applicable to ONLY undergraduates of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.



Upon the completion and submission of the entry form, shortlisted candidates will participate in the first phase of the competition which is a Computer Based Test (CBT).

The best twelve (12) participants in the first round will qualify for the second phase of the CBT-based competition after which six (6) qualified participants with the highest marks would be invited for the final competition at the Annual Tax Conference of the Institute scheduled to hold from May 18-22, 2021 at Umar Musa Yar’adua Hall, Murtala Mohammed Square, Race Course Kaduna”.

GUIDELINES FOR THE ACCREDITATION OF TUITION CENTRES
The following are the process of requesting for the approval of CITN Tuition Centers:
– A formal letter of intention must be written to the CITN
– There must be conducive classrooms/lecture halls suitable for learning
– There must be qualified lecturers who are CITN members for the purpose of training the prospective students
– There must be accessible library
Nominated members of the Student Affairs and Tertiary Committee of the Institute will have to visit the Centre, in order to confirm the availabilities of the above, and recommendation made to Council for its approval;

Payment of a non-refundable accreditation fee of ₦30,000 must be paid to the bank account details below:

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE INDUCTEES
1. The COMPULSORY Pre- Induction Orientation Programme, which would cover broad topics in tax practice and administration, will hold from Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th December, 2020 at Regency Hall Events, 1, Otunba Jobi Fele Way, Central Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.

2. Note that your full attendance and participation at the Pre-Induction Orientation Programme is a condition to being qualified for induction on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at The Lagoon Restaurant, 1C, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. You may also note that your membership number and certificate shall be issued to you at the venue of the induction.

GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE NOT TO ATTEND THE PRE-INDUCTION ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

3. Registration starts at 8 a.m. on each day of the event.

4. Dress code throughout the duration of the programme (i.e., Wednesday 2nd – Friday 4th) shall be corporate dressing.

5. Prospective inductees are to note that a District fee of N1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred naira only) shall be made payable on the date of the Induction. This is for the District Society that you will be joining immediately you are inducted. Please, note that payment of this fee is also a condition to collecting your certificate on the day of the Induction.

6. You are to come with a generally accepted document of identification (Drivers licence, National Identity Card, International Passport, etc) without which you will not be able to collect your membership certificate on the date of the Induction.

7. Please take note of the arrangement of names for correctness. (First Name, Middle Name & Surname)

8. Membership certificate shall not be collected by proxy for any reason whatsoever
