The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria CITN Student Membership Registration still ongoing according to the information gathered from the institute website, procedures and requirements are stated below.

ELIGIBILITY TO REGISTER AS STUDENT MEMBER.
Conditions to be satisfied.
Every prospective candidate for admission to student membership must possess the basic minimum educational qualification as set by Council.
•First degree, Higher National Diploma or its equivalent.
•NYSC certificate.

•Undergraduates seeking to apply as student members of the Institute
•Five O’Level credits in WAEC or GCE or NECO in not more than 2 sittings including English language and Mathematics, provided however that O’ level pass in Mathematics is acceptable for students of humanities while O’ level Pass in English Language is acceptable for science students.
•Letters of admission into their tertiary institutions and letter of recommendation from their Head of Department and will be entitled to a special reduction cost package of 50% discount.

Registration Procedure:
•Prospective Professional students are required to apply online via the CITN website by the click on “Become a Professional Student Member” from the “Join Now” menu of the website.
•Payment can be made online with your Mastercard, Visa, Verve, Interswitch, etransact cards.
•Professional Students Registration (Inclusive of Subscription and Identity Card) 12,000.00

The Chartered Institute of Chartered Taxation of Nigeria CITN has listed the expected inductees for August 2020 induction, the statement from CITN website read as follow:

CITN LIST OF EXPECTED INDUCTEES FOR AUGUST 2020 INDUCTION

Dear Prospective member,

You are advised to go through the below and note the following information:

1. For direct members’ applicants, Pre-Induction Orientation Programme begins from Wednesday August 26 to Thursday, 27 August, 2020. The programme will be held virtually on zoom online platform. Induction programme will hold on Friday, August 28, 2020

2. For ACCA members, Conversion training programme begins from Monday, August 24 to Tuesday, August 25, 2020. The programme will be held virtually on zoom online platform. Induction programme will hold on Friday, August 28, 2020

3. For CITN Graduate Students, you are only required to be available for the induction ceremony which has been scheduled to hold on Friday, August 28, 2020. 

4. Dressing for the programmes is full corporate or full traditional attire.

5. The format for names on the certificate is: FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAME and SURNAME; Please confirm correctness of your name and its arrangement with the format above. Should there be any correction, please send to omololaolatomiwa@https://www.citn.org/09065283814 on or before Monday August 24, 2020.

6. All prospective inductees are to pay the sum of N1, 500.00 (One thousand five hundred naira only) as District levy to the CITN UBA Bank Account: 1005809652 as this will be pre-requisite for the collection of certificates. Send payment receipt to membership@https://www.citn.org.

7. The modality for the collection of certificates will be communicated to all inductees soon

8. The link to the zoom platform will be sent to all inductees email addresses.

9. Please note that the list of inductees will be updated as payments are made before the deadline of Friday, August 21, 2020

The Chartered Institute Of Taxation Of Nigeria CITN has announced the date for the Professional Examination to be Tuesday, 21st & Wednesday, 22nd April, 2020.

Notes for Students:

  • Late registration commences a week after the dosing date (i.e, from March 31 -April 7, 2020) and will attract a surcharge of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira Only).
  • Candidates are advised to upload their signatures during registration for exams, failure to do so will lead to the decline of application.
  • Candidates are also advised to visit: https://www.citn.org/codeofethics  and acquaint themselves with the instructions and disciplinary measures guiding examinations
  • Exemption opportunities based on new syllabus is now opened to both existing and new student

Council has approved the registration of undergraduates as student members provided they possess five credits (in not more than two sittings) at 0′ Level including English Language and Mathematics. In addition, certified letter of admission from the Tertiary Institution of the undergraduate would be required. Such students will start sitting for the Institute’s Examinations from the Foundation level before progressing to other levels.

HOW TO BECOME CITN MEMBER

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria started on February 4, 1982 as Association of Tax Administrators and Practitioners. There are two ways to attain CITN membership

CITN Professional Student Member (PFS)

In accordance with the Charter and Rules and Regulations of the Institute, a person is admitted as a professional member of the Institute if he/she satisfies the basic requirements of student membership of the Institute as stipulated in the Charter. Click here for details

TAXATION TECHNICIAN’S SCHEME (TTS)
